You Have the Power to Speak Your Life Into Existence

Speak Life_8.24.16

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

-Matthew 21:22 (KJV)

Your words have power. Your Words Have Power. YOUR. WORDS. HAVE. POWER. The power of the tongue is a mighty tool that has biblical merit. For example, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruits thereof.” – Proverbs 18:21 (KJV). The words that we speak create our reality. The thoughts we think create our overall vibrations, and as a result attract specific people, resources, and situations into our lives. This is why it is imperative to be extremely specific with the words that you say, in regards to what you want. In fact, one should only exert their focus and energy upon the things that they wish to make a part of their reality, bypassing all scenarios and situations that do not align with the envisioned outcome, ” Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” – Philippians 4:8 (KJV).

Moreover, another important component to this equation is also the strength and magnitude of one’s faith. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” – Mark 11:23 (NIV). Let’s put this into more practical terms, shall we? If y0ur words were a jack-hammer…why am I using a jackhammer for this analogy? Because I want to, that’s why. So as I was saying, if your words were a jackhammer, your faith would be the driving electrical force behind it. Your faith would be giving the metaphorical jackhammer, that is your words, all of the back power that they would need in order to manifest your desires, goals, and overall wishes.

In addition to biblical confirmation, there are a wide variety of theories, books, and well-known speakers that subscribe to the unlimited power that words, thoughts, and faith contain. To illustrate, Napolean Hill – an American author and early producer of personal-success literature- wrote a wildly successful book entitled “Think and Grow Rich.” In the book, he highlights keys that are  significant for the attainment of wealth and success. Can you guess the most important factor? You guessed it…Faith. In fact, it was so important that he dedicated an entire chapter to explain his philosophy surrounding it. In his book Hill states,”Faith is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind, through the principle of auto-suggestion.” In the above excerpt, Hill alludes to the idea that the subconscious mind is willing to adopt whatever “truth” you give it. Therefore, taking on what is given as truth and acting upon those ideologies. This is a concept that Earl Nightingale – an American radio personality, speaker, and author who submerged himself and his work in the area of human character development- also cosigned. Nightingale once stated, “Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become reality.”

As if more evidence were required to support this theory, I’ll present to you the  phenomenal life and career of the late Octavia Butler. Butler was one of the first African-American women to successfully tap into the literature realm of science-fiction. Not only is her work critically acclaimed, she has also won various awards for her writings. In an article featured in Blavity, written by Kiara Collins, entitled ” Author Literally Wrote Her Life Into Existence,” the piece in detail depicts how Butler journaled her major career milestones before they happened. Butler utilized the power of speaking/writing her future into existence and stepped out on her faith. An excerpt from the article states, “What Butler wrote as a verbal vision board then, would later come to fruition and hold true to the idea that the work she was doing had a purpose and would fall upon yearning hands.” To add, Butler wrote specific desires such as “I shall be a bestselling writer,” “My articles will go onto the above lists whether publishers push them or not,” “My books will be read by millions,” she would also seal the deal upon her written affirmations with the phrase, “So be it, see to it.” Needless to say, Butler fulfilled the prophecies of her writing, and then some.

The main purpose of this post is to exemplify that the power of words are not limited to anyone. Before Hill, Nightingale, and Butler were well-known public figures they were all normal human beings with a desire and deep-set faith in their visions coming to fruition. Everyone has the ability to utilize their words, thoughts, and faith to make appear that which they will. The accomplishments of the above individuals have inspired me to dig even deeper within my determination, consistency, and focus, to bring to actualization the many goals, ideas, and desires that I have continued to place upon the metaphorical back-burner.
